South Okanagan

The southern part of the Valley is the heart of wine country. And along with the ever increasing number of vineyards and wineries, it remains home to a multitude of orchards and fruit stands. An extra month of good weather gives the "deep south" the earliest fruit in Canada.

Summerland

Tudor architecture makes Summerland unique. Nearly 12,000 inhabitants can access arts and culture, agritourism, stunning beaches, parks and hiking trails. Orchards, fishing lakes and wilderness are right on the doorstep. Residential areas reflect the character of their location. Lakeside Summerland, Trout Creek and Central Summerland offer beautiful views of the surrounding rural landscape. Advantages are a smaller community with shopping and schools; as well as thriving arts, agritourism and outdoor recreation.

Naramata

This picturesque village on the lake hosts an attendant sleepy pace and good-neighbour feel. The tree-lined streets frame large character homes and quaint cottages built over the years. Lake views, orchards and vineyards cast a charming spell. Naramata enjoys an array of stellar eateries out of proportion to its size. The west-facing locations offer stunning sunset views. Advantages are a peaceful community with some local shopping, access to beaches and the Kettle Valley hiking & biking trails.

Kaleden

On the west side of Skaha Lake cozy Kaleden welcomes the morning sun and is sheltered from afternoon heat. It's less than 10 - minute drive to Penticton for amenities.

Advantages are quiet living, golfing, good beach access and sloped geography that offers most homes a lake view.

Okanagan Falls

On the southern shores of Skaha Lake, OK Falls has a village feel, with banking, shopping and restaurants in the small town center.

Twenty minutes south of Penticton, whether you choose the scenic Eastside Road or Highway 97. Advantages are country living and outdoor recreation with amenities.

Oliver

About 20 minutes north of Osoyoos and an hour's drive south of Penticton, Oliver is primarily a center for empty-nesters and retirees.

Advantages are a small community with lots of sunshine, local skiing and farm produce.

Osoyoos

The Okanagan's border town, Osoyoos, Canada's Oasis in the desert. It is located in one of the country's most unique ecologies, the Osoyoos Arid Biotic Zone, a continuation of the Northern Sonoran Desert that extends all the way north from Mexico.

Advantages are a small resort community, with more sunshine and less precipitation then northern neighbours and lots of wineries.

Penticton - Skaha Lakeshore

An older well-treed neighbourhood, with single-family homes built three or four decades ago, and a mix of more recent townhouses, apartments and condos for middle-income earners with a taste for neat and tidy surroundings.

Advantages are close to the beach, waterfront park, marina, restaurants, shopping, schools, orchards and airport.

Penticton - Downtown

The older part of Penticton near the business strip and Okanagan lakeshore. New walkways, lighting, and signage welcoming shops & restaurants. Housing options vary from 100-year old buildings on Main street & lakeshore drive. From older single-story homes to the city's best condo's.

Advantages are flat and walk able to downtown shopping, restaurants, movies, banking, casino & Okanagan Lake. Walkways, golf & country club, parks and schools are all convenient.

Penticton - East Side

The Wiltse and Columbia neighbourhoods feature mostly new family housing with great views, well above the hustle and bustle of the tourist center. A number of executive homes set an upscale tone.

Advantages are views, light traffic, with schools and neighbourhood grocery shopping. Just a few minutes from downtown and lake enjoyment.

Penticton - West Side

West bench, Sage Mesa and Husula Highlands are outside Penticton's boundaries, and, unless you're training for the ironman, commuting by vehicle is a must. Luxury country living amidst orchards and vineyards with spectacular views.

Advantages are a quiet country living on large lots with lake or city views. Great access to the Kettle Valley rail bed for walking and cycling.
